Insight is important. Change asks for something more.
Many of the people I work with are psychologically minded and already understand a great deal about themselves.
You may know where your patterns come from, recognize them as they’re happening, and understand how earlier experiences continue to shape the way you feel and relate to others.
And yet, knowing all of this hasn’t necessarily made those patterns easier to change.
I work with people who want to go beyond insight and reach the emotional patterns underneath, the places where understanding alone doesn’t always create change.

I tend to work best with people who are curious about themselves and want a therapist who will really engage with them.
I’m an active, intuitive therapist. I listen closely, but I also offer feedback, point out patterns, ask questions, and tell you what I’m noticing. I’m interested in understanding why something developed, but even more interested in what might actually help it shift.
My work is grounded especially in IFS and parts work, while drawing from attachment, psychodynamic, somatic, and DBT approaches. I also bring an international perspective shaped by having lived across Europe and Asia. Before practicing in Chicago, I founded a therapy practice in Tokyo and have worked with clients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and ways of living.
